The Study Guide
How to use the Expository Parenting Study Guide for small groups:
Each participant obtains a copy of the book Expository Parenting.
Each participant downloads a free copy of the Expository Parenting Study Guide.
Participants determine how frequently to meet as a small group (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.) to go through each session. For planning purposes, note that there are 15 total sessions.
Before meeting together as a group, each participant completes the “Before: To Prepare” section. In order to provide a biblical foundation for the small group, note that Sessions 2-5 include additional work to review 2 Timothy.
During each group meeting, participants discuss the questions in the “During: To Discuss” section. Briefly preparing answers to the questions prior to meeting will make the discussion more fruitful.
After meeting as a group, each participant spends the days afterward reading the articles listed in the “After: To Reflect” section. These articles will expand upon the themes in the session and provide for a much richer understanding and application of the principles from the associated chapter in the book.
For participants who want to dive deeper into a particular subject, additional resources are listed in the “Later: To Explore” section. These are optional resources for individuals to work through on their own after the small group study is finished.
